Chapter 2: The Omega Protocol

At 1:15 AM, the top floor of the Aguilar Tower in Monterrey was normally dark. Tonight, within ten minutes of Ernesto’s call, the secure conference line was lit up with four of the most ruthless financial and legal minds in Mexico.

Ernesto sat in the private executive consultation room of the hospital, a laptop open in front of him, while Iván stood guard at the door.

On the screen was Beatriz Robles, Ernesto’s chief legal counsel—a woman feared in corporate boardrooms from Mexico City to Madrid.

"Don Ernesto," Beatriz said, her voice crisp despite the hour. "We have the files open. The Omega Protocol is active."

"Give me his blood, Beatriz," Ernesto said coldly. "Every drop."

"Mauricio Serrano is a house of cards built entirely on your signature, sir," she began, pulling up a secondary financial chart on the screen. "His primary investment fund, Serrano Holdings, has seventy million pesos in outstanding short-term liabilities. The only reason his creditors haven't called the debt is because your corporate guarantee is attached as secondary collateral."

"Revoke the guarantee," Ernesto ordered. "Right now."

"Already done," Beatriz replied smoothly. "The moment the guarantee was pulled, our shell corporation, Apex Capital, purchased the entirety of his debt notes from the private banks at seventy cents on the dollar. As of five minutes ago, Don Ernesto, you personally own every single peso Mauricio owes."

"And the real estate?"

"The villa in Cancún where the... incident occurred is deeded under Valentina's personal trust, which you control as the grantor," Beatriz explained. "However, Mauricio took out a fraudulent second mortgage on the property six months ago using a forged power of attorney. He funneled three million pesos into an offshore account in the Caymans."

Ernesto’s jaw tightened. "He was planning his exit."

"He was," Beatriz agreed. "We have flagged the transfer with federal banking regulators for money laundering and signature fraud. His domestic and international bank accounts have been frozen by federal emergency mandate. His credit cards will decline within the hour."

"And Valentina's Light?" Ernesto asked.

"The yacht is registered under an Aguilar maritime LLC," Beatriz said with a faint, razor-sharp smile. "Mauricio is listed merely as an authorized operator. We have revoked his captain's tenancy electronically."

Ernesto closed his eyes for a brief second, imagining the sheer arrogance of the man sailing his daughter's yacht while she fought for her life.

"Beatriz," Ernesto said, leaning closer to the microphone. "Prepare the criminal filings for attempted murder, domestic violence, and financial fraud. But do not file them with the police yet."

"Why wait, sir?"

"Because if the police arrest him on that yacht, he gets a lawyer and a shield," Ernesto said, standing up and buttoning his suit jacket. "I want him to wake up from his party and realize he doesn't even own the shirt on his back. Iván—get the car. We are going to the marina."
