Chapter 4: The Harbor Raid

"Who is that? The Coast Guard?" Sergio asked, squinting into the darkness as the two high-speed tactical boats circled the stern of Valentina’s Light.
"It’s not the Coast Guard," Mauricio said, a cold knot of dread tightening in his stomach.
The side hulls of the incoming boats bore no government insignia—only the simple, sharp emblem of Aguilar Global Security.
Before Mauricio could shout an order to his hired captain to lift anchor, two grappling hooks clamped onto the lower swim platform. Within seconds, eight men in dark tactical gear stepped over the railing. They didn't draw weapons, but they moved with the coordinated, heavy-handed authority of a private army.
The party guests screamed, backing away from the railings as the men marched up the teakwood stairs to the upper deck.
At the center of the squad was Iván Torres.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Mauricio demanded, jumping to his feet, trying to project an authority he did not possess. "This is private property! I am Mauricio Serrano! I will have you all arrested for trespassing!"
Iván didn't answer. He simply stepped to the side.
Walking up the stairs, his dark suit immaculate despite the sea spray, was Don Ernesto Aguilar.
The silence on the upper deck became absolute. The laughter, the alcohol-fueled courage, the arrogance—it all evaporated the second the guests looked into Ernesto’s eyes.
Paola quickly slid off the sofa, her face turning pale as she backed away from Mauricio, suddenly realizing she was standing in the middle of a high-altitude collision.
"Don Ernesto..." Mauricio stammered, his polished smile faltering, his voice dropping an octave. "What... what are you doing here? How is Vale? Did she... is she..."
Ernesto walked across the deck, his boots clicking against the wood. He didn't look at the champagne bottles. He didn't look at the mistress cowering by the bar. He looked only at the man who had promised to protect his daughter.
"She is alive," Ernesto said.
Mauricio’s left eye twitched—a micro-expression of pure, unadulterated disappointment that did not escape Ernesto’s gaze.
"Thank God!" Mauricio cried out, immediately attempting to recover his performance. He pressed his hands to his chest. "I was just... I had to step out, Ernesto. The grief was suffocating me. These friends came out to support me—"
"Silence," Ernesto said.
The single word fell like a guillotine. Mauricio’s mouth snapped shut.
"You are a terrible actor, Mauricio," Ernesto said, his voice quiet, carrying effortlessly over the sea breeze. "And an even worse criminal."
Ernesto gestured to Iván, who held up a heavy legal binder.
"As of one o'clock this morning," Ernesto announced to the quiet deck, "the corporate guarantee on Serrano Holdings was revoked. Apex Capital has acquired your entire seventy-million-peso debt portfolio. You are legally insolvent."
Mauricio’s face drained of all color. "Ernesto, please—let me explain—"
"Furthermore," Ernesto continued, ignoring him completely, "your maritime operator tenancy for this vessel has been cancelled. You are currently trespassing on an Aguilar corporate asset."

Ernesto turned to Iván.
"Throw them off my daughter's boat."
