The criminal and civil tracks reached their practical resolutions in the third and fourth months.
Celeste accepted a plea structure that kept the most severe exposure contained in exchange for admissions sufficient to sustain the protective orders, the financial restraints, and a permanent bar on contact with my mother. The feather-duster assault, the false imprisonment patterns, and the documentary fraud supported terms that removed her from any position of control. She did not contest the divorce. The marital assets were divided under a schedule that returned to my mother every identifiable attempt at diversion and left Celeste with what the court determined was hers alone.

The prepaid phone, the message threads, and the title-company paper had given the investigators more than enough to close the circle.
