The divorce was filed the next morning.
I met with Cynthia Ross at her office and signed every paper without hesitation.
Joint accounts frozen.
Assets separated.
The house put up for sale.
Cynthia looked at me carefully.
“You’re sure you don’t want to keep the company shares?”
“I’m sure,” I said. “I built Valeon without her. I don’t need anything that reminds me of her.”
The divorce was clean.
Vanessa fought it at first, claiming I was overreacting, that my mother was confused, that Elena was lying for money.
The flash drive evidence destroyed her defense.
The divorce was granted in record time.
I stood in the courthouse hallway after the judge signed the papers and felt nothing but relief.
The marriage was over.
