Chapter 11: Permanent Lines
By the fifth month the longer protective orders were entered.
Grace and Lily remained under formal restriction protecting them from Victoria, from her immediate family, and from any third-party inquiry linked to those interests. Contact, approach, and information requests were prohibited. Temporary decision-making authority over Lily’s care was converted into a stable legal framework that recognized both Grace’s primary role and my parental relationship. No supervised access of any kind was granted to the restricted parties.
The fabricated complaints that had attempted to frame Grace as unstable or as a kidnapper were formally closed or withdrawn under judicial scrutiny. The pattern of their timing, combined with the historical evidence of the pact between the two fathers, left little room for claims of good-faith concern. Victoria’s remaining public posture shifted toward narratives of personal betrayal and family destruction. Those narratives had no effect on the orders.

Lily’s world stayed deliberately small and predictable. Caregivers were limited to the approved list. Medical and eventually educational records carried only authorized contacts. The east wing transitioned from emergency housing into a permanent residential arrangement under my direct oversight. Grace asked for no publicity and no financial spectacle. She asked only that the threats that had governed the previous five years remain permanently outside the perimeter.
I continued the systematic neutralization of every corporate and trust mechanism that had been built on the requirement of a clean marriage to Victoria. Some provisions were struck. Others were rewritten under court supervision. The combined holdings that had once been presented as inevitable no longer depended on Lily’s invisibility.
