By the time Leo reached six months, the legal and practical separations were complete.
The protective order stood without provision for contact or supervised access. Dissolution paperwork was finalized. Financial and institutional ties that had once included Vivienne’s name were fully severed. School and medical forms—when they eventually became relevant—would carry only approved contacts. The estate operated under revised protocols that no longer assumed her presence or authority.
The parallel police inquiry closed its active phase with a formal record of the incident, the unauthorized access to Elara’s belongings, and the statements of those present. No additional criminal proceedings were initiated beyond the existing documentation. The file remained available. I did not seek further public action. The civil and protective outcomes had already removed Vivienne from every channel that concerned Leo.

Household reorganization reached its final administrative stages. Staff who had reported primarily to her were no longer part of the private wing. Security reviews continued on a regular cycle. The nursery monitors and access systems were upgraded beyond the original configuration. Leo’s world remained deliberately small and predictable: consistent caregivers, quiet rooms, and no residual exposure to the woman who had placed him in rising water while wearing a smile.
I kept the sealed envelope in the safe. I did not revisit the charm or the broken bracelet piece. Their presence in Leo’s hand on the night of the incident had already established the necessary fact: Vivienne had entered private history and private space long before she turned on the faucet. That fact stayed in the record. It required no repeated display.
