Kenneth’s employment was terminated for cause. The announcement to the company was brief and factual. No reference was made to the hospital or the adhesive. The people who needed to understand the full sequence already did.

On the personal side, the medical-consent action advanced through early discovery. The clinic’s records, the handwriting analysis, and the permanent clinical effect formed a narrow, devastating core. Kenneth’s attempts to characterize the procedure as a mutual decision collapsed against the absence of any contemporaneous consent from me and the presence of his own signature on the falsified form. Settlement discussions began at his counsel’s initiative. I instructed my attorneys to entertain numbers only after the factual record was fully stipulated. I would not trade silence for speed.
Justin finalized his divorce filing against Maya. The financial transfers into accounts linked to her became part of that proceeding. I provided the documented evidence he requested and otherwise stayed out of the marriage I had never been party to. He did not ask me to soften the corporate consequences for Kenneth in exchange for family peace. That particular currency had no remaining value.
