Chapter 7: The Evidence
Marcus came to the hospital with an update.
The videos were damning. Diane hitting Emma. Rachel laughing while Emma begged for help with the feverish baby. Text messages between the two women calling Emma “useless” and “dramatic.”
Diane had also been draining Emma’s bank account—my deployment pay—claiming it was for “household expenses.” Over $11,000 gone.
CPS had already filed for emergency removal of Lucas from Diane and Rachel’s care. A restraining order was in place.
