Chapter 2: The Rise

Eight years earlier, Kesha had been twenty-five, in love, and terrified.
When she told Marcus she was pregnant, she had expected shock, maybe even fear. What she got instead was cold rejection.
He called her a liar.
He said the baby wasn’t his.
He filed for divorce the next day.
By the time she found out she was carrying quadruplets, Marcus had already changed his number and disappeared.
She had been completely alone.
For the first two years, life had been brutal. She worked two jobs while pregnant, gave birth to four premature babies, and fought every single day just to keep them fed and healthy. There were nights she cried herself to sleep wondering how she would survive another week.
But Kesha had always been a fighter.
In the third year, she took a risk.
She used the small amount of money she had saved and started a digital marketing company from her tiny apartment. She worked while the babies slept. She learned everything she could about online business. She took every client she could find, no matter how small.
By year five, her company had grown.
By year six, she had moved into a proper office.
By year seven, she had become one of the top digital marketing firms in Texas.
Now, at thirty-three, Kesha Bennett was the CEO of a multi-million-dollar company. She owned a beautiful home in Austin, drove a sleek black SUV, and employed over forty people. Her children — Noah, Ethan, Sophia, and Olivia — were healthy, happy, and thriving.
They were also the spitting image of their father.
Every time Kesha looked at them, she saw Marcus’s eyes, his smile, and that stubborn jawline. But instead of pain, she now felt pride.
These four children were the best thing that had ever happened to her.
And Marcus had missed every single moment of their lives.
He had no idea they existed.
Kesha leaned back in her chair and looked at the framed photo on her desk — the four of them laughing together on a beach last summer.

She touched the glass gently.
“Merry Christmas, babies,” she whispered. “Daddy’s about to get the surprise of his life.”
