Chapter 14: The Quiet Christmas

My quiet Christmas was perfect.
I had a simple meal at a small restaurant by the water.
I watched the sunset.
I listened to Christmas music on the radio and sang along without worrying about anyone hearing.
I opened the small gift I had bought for myself and smiled at how pretty it looked.
I thought about my family at home, trying to figure out the dinner without me.
I thought about the years I had given them everything.
And I felt no guilt.
Only peace.
The quiet Christmas was not lonely.
May you like
It was healing.
It was the first Christmas that truly belonged to me.
