Chapter 4: Watching From the Shadows

For three years, I watched them.
Ryan eventually “moved on.” He started dating again. He sold some of my things and spent the insurance money he got after I was declared dead. Linda helped him spend it.
They even threw a small party one year after my “death” to “celebrate moving forward.”
I saw the photos on social media.
They looked happy.
They looked free.
Meanwhile, I was living quietly in another city, working a simple job and planning their downfall.
Every night, I would look at the evidence I had collected and remind myself why I was doing this.
They had taken my baby from me.
They had tried to kill me.
They had lied to everyone and gotten away with it.
Now it was my turn.
I wasn’t in a rush. I wanted to be thorough. I wanted to make sure that when I finally came back, they wouldn’t be able to escape.
So I waited.
I watched.
And I prepared.
Then, three years later, I decided it was time.

I had enough evidence. I had enough money saved. And I was no longer the scared, pregnant woman they had pushed down the stairs.
I was ready to destroy them.
