The months that followed required no further emergency actions.
Sophia’s office managed the residual corporate formalities and the final accounting of accounts that had once funded Dominic and Victoria’s household. I reviewed summaries on a fixed schedule and authorized only what maintained the separation. The construction company continued under majority oversight; its day-to-day survival was a business question, not a personal one. I had no obligation to dismantle it for satisfaction. I had already removed their unquestioned access.

Victoria’s attempts to reframe the narrative found no useful audience once title records and freeze documentation were in circulation among the relevant professionals.
I lived at the address that had never appeared on any joint document. The trust continued its ordinary work. The hospital bracelet was long gone. The marble staircase belonged to a house I no longer entered.
