Chapter 1: The Foaming Milk

The luxurious nursery was bathed in soft golden light from a crystal chandelier. White silk curtains swayed gently. The air smelled of lavender and expensive baby powder. In the center stood a white crib where baby Leo slept peacefully.

A blonde woman in an elegant gold silk robe walked calmly toward the crib, holding a warm bottle of milk. Her face was serene, almost loving, as she looked down at her son.

Suddenly, the door burst open.

A maid in a gray uniform and white apron ran frantically into the room and, in one desperate move, snatched the bottle from her hand.

The bottle flew from the maid’s grip and shattered on the wooden floor. White milk spilled everywhere.

The blonde woman — Elena — reacted violently. She slapped the maid hard across the face. The impact sent the maid crashing to the ground.

“What are you doing? That’s my baby’s milk!” Elena screamed, gasping for breath as she tried to protect her son.

The maid sat on the floor, clutching her injured cheek, tears streaming down her face. But she didn’t look away. With a trembling finger, she pointed at the spilled puddle.

Instead of spreading normally, the white liquid began to foam densely, releasing a strange chemical reaction — clear proof that something deadly had been mixed inside.

“He’s protecting his son,” the maid sobbed, her voice shaking. “That milk… it’s poisoned.”

From the shadows at the back of the room, an elderly woman in a perfectly tailored suit stood frozen. Her face was ghostly pale. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she stared at the foaming milk on the floor.

The maid turned her tear-filled eyes toward the older woman — silently revealing who was truly behind it.

Elena slowly turned around. Her eyes met her mother’s.

“Mom…?” she whispered, her voice breaking. “Were you the one who made the milk?”

The elderly woman — Victoria — couldn’t speak. Her lips trembled. Her eyes were filled with overwhelming guilt and crushing remorse. She didn’t need to say a word — her silence confirmed the horrifying truth.

She had tried to poison her own grandson.

Elena staggered backward, clutching her chest as if the air had been knocked out of her lungs. The woman who gave her life had just tried to take her child’s.

In that moment, the luxurious nursery no longer felt like a place of love.

It felt like a crime scene.

And the real monster wasn’t the woman in the gold robe.

It was the one who had raised her.
