Chapter 11: The Hidden Will

The hidden will was discovered two weeks after Victoria’s arrest.
It was found in a private safe in her study, written months earlier. In it, Victoria left almost everything — the houses, the investments, the control of the family trust — to a distant cousin, completely cutting Elena and Leo out.
Elena read the document in the lawyer’s office with Leo sleeping in a carrier on her chest.
The lawyer looked uncomfortable. “She clearly planned this for a long time.”
Elena’s voice was calm. “She planned to kill my son and then erase us from the family.”
The will was contested immediately. Elena’s legal team argued undue influence, mental instability, and the fact that Victoria had attempted to murder her own grandson. The court froze the assets pending the criminal trial.
Victoria, from her jail cell, tried to fight it. She sent messages through her lawyer, offering “generous settlements” if Elena dropped the charges.
Elena’s answer was simple.
“No.”
The hidden will became just another piece of evidence in the growing case against Victoria. It showed premeditation. It showed hatred. It showed a woman willing to destroy her own blood to protect a legacy that no longer existed.
Elena left the lawyer’s office and took Leo to the park.
For the first time in weeks, she felt something close to peace.

But they were still here.
